About Me

  1. Hello, As an MSP we've the need to group multiple interface instances (from different devices & different clients as well) in order to set common thresholds, reports, etc... From my research that isn't possible within LM. Anyone able to do that? This would be very useful from the monitoring/management perspective. Regards,
  2. We need a way to be able to specify the Title of any graph when we are creating reports. The OOTB method uses a very un-discernable title for something simple as CPU USAGE. It displays: "WinCPU with instance * on datapoint CPUBusyPercent". Any client looking at this report is going to ask WTH does this mean? We need a way to be able to specify the %TITLE% on each Datasource we specify when building a report. IF you can add a column to the DataPoints section called Title: Example in the above report each category is titled with: CPU Usage % title is: WinCPU with instanc
  3. Hi, I have just started working with Reports. To fetch the trend of each Metric with respect to each Device, I have choose the report type "Resource Metric Trends Report". This Report type have options only to select the Datasource, Instance and the necessary Datapoints. I am trying to fetch Percentile values of necessary datapoints respect to devices. To the dashboard, I use virtual datapoints to do the required aggregate functions and get the results. But in Reports, I cannot see the option to apply the aggregate functions to the datapoints. I would like to know how to do the cu
  4. We are having issues with Devices that are coming up with NaN on some instances and are looking for a report we can run showing devices with that behavior. Yes, we could put a datapoint in with a 'alert if you get NaN' but sometimes scripts fail and you get that. We're looking for sustained behavior, not intermittent. this will point us to where we might have creds wrong or permissions incorrectly configured.
  5. I love the Reports UI but my users who have only View access to Reports or any given Report Group SHOULD NOT be able to see the reports generated by other users. The previously generated reports are great, but they are hosted in S3 and don't check against the user roles we have assigned to our users. We have a common set of reports that all of our clients use and when they run them on-demand in the old UI, that's all they get--that particular run. Client ABC can now see a version of a report that was run by Client XYZ by clicking on a link. Not good. Making all runs of a report available
  6. We waste a lot of productive time trying to figure out GLOB expressions, or supporting our non-programmer users with GLOB expressions. It would be super awesome if you could simply give us something based on the device tree navigator control from the Role definition editor view, so users can use that to select resource groups to include in a report. We prefer to give our users self service abilities, but GLOBs mean users have to come to engineering when they need to filter information from a report.
  7. Having spoken with John via chat session, and discovering the cause of reports generating with blank data, it was discovered that a user that was no longer with the company was the last person who had modified a report. The feature being requested is to simply allow reports to run and send out as they are scheduled, regardless of the user that put them in place. While simply touching the reports and saving them with a different user does allow it to function, does not fix the root cause. While the rest of LM datasources, dashboards, and graphs function regardless of creating user, the r
  8. I want to have a report that will give me all devices that are currently under an SDT, that will show the device name, SDT Start Date, SDT End Date, and the comments of the SDT>
  9. Scenario -- I have a device group with a mix of AWS EC2 with Local Collector, EC2 with only the cloud collector, RDS instances, and Load Balancers. I went and created a device inventory report to grab some info about EC2 tags. It asks for a datasource, so I've tried a few--"Ping", "HostStatus", "AWS_EC2". No matter which I select, the resulting report has all devices--EC2, ELBs, RDS--regardless of the datasource selection. So obviously the datasource selection in this report type doesn't mean what I think it means. So what is this option used for?
  10. Hello! My challenge is how to calculate proper SLA time (in minutes) during the last calendar month. Currently the Threshold must be set manually. The problem is that many months have different amount of minutes so single value might not give 100% correct result. Having dynamic thresholds would be much better option. Thank you!
  11. I'd like the ability to search for keywords or IP addresses throughout all of my device backup config files without having to view them one at a time.
  12. Please make the Name and Description columns wider. The Generated and Report Type columns do not need to be so wide.
  13. When exporting a report to CSV, it is converting #'s and adding a "K" behind them, instead of providing the actual #. For example, 1708 is being turned into 1.71K. I would just like to have the actual # & not have it turned into a text value, rounded, and a "K" added to it (difficult to use in Excel).
  14. currently i don't see any template where i can get detailed usage report of customer (i.e. Group) with details of CPU, Memory, Disk, Network in single report. there is an option we can do with device metric trends but we have enter all Data points which is going to be a huge task when we are talking about multiple groups who's with huge amount of servers. There has to be templates around to get execute summary (Management, CIO reports) with details of monitoring system and few for utilization like this.. etc..
  15. Hello, I'm looking to have an option to send dashboard reports only on weekdays. Less clutter for emails I don't need/read on the weekend. Thanks! Jake
  16. PropertySources are one of the recent additions to LogicModules, they were introduced in v.83 (https://www.logicmonitor.com/release-notes/v-83-scriptable-properties-dashboards-report-two-factor-authentication/). They are a very powerful feature and you can use them for many other purposes other than just showing a Cisco Serial Number which is a common use case for this feature. I am going to focus this post on using PropertySources to improve a Device Inventory Report. For example, you have hundreds or thousands of SNMP devices being monitored and you want to know if any of the devices ar
  17. It would be useful to have and option to create a PDF report in Landscape mode. Even with minimal fields selected for the report, information starts to wrap over multiple lines, making it difficult to read such things as Began and End date/time fields.
  18. Hoping someone has suggestions on possibilities to replicate (or at least get very close) a PRTG report. LogicMonitor Engineers - this would allow us to covert another current company using PRTG over to LogicMonitor! Any assistance is much appreciated. Thank you!
  19. Use case: Which alerts are occurring more than 100 times a month? The Alert Frequency report can tell us this but it also all frequencies. We want to filter for line items where the frequency is > n. (This would also reduce the CSV, HTML, PDF size.)
  20. Please make it possible to show/hide he Ack'ed column on the SLA reports.
  21. We break out our dashboards by our environment. SQL Prod, SQL Stage, SQL Test, and so on... We can have a single report with one dashboard report attached to it. What would be nice, is if I could have one email with the links to the different dashboards. Thank you! Jake
  22. Alert history is currently limited to only 30 days of data. This severely handicaps identification of false positives/negatives, the understanding of alert history and its implications across the organization, and severely limits the value of reports. Please increase alert and event retention to match the "Data Retention" length explicitly stated on LogicMonitor's official pricing page for a given plan. Thank you!
  23. Our reporting team is being raked over the coals (and dragging me along with them) because they are unable to reliably and easily pull Services availability when Services are ticking downtime when they are in SDT. A similar option to Calculate no data as Available where the "Website Service Overview"report can "Calculate SDT as Available" would be VERY appreciated.
  24. I want to be able to send customers a monthly report that is a combination of several other reports. So we need a way to multi select reports to create a combined report that will send a single email with a single report that contains the contents of the selected reports. For example I have SLA reports setup for CPU, Memory, and DiskUsage and I have a report that shows a list of all alerts of level Error and above. These are four separate reports. I would like to be able to combine all of these into a single report that gets emailed to the customer. Any ideas how this could be don
  25. Is there a log or a way to verify if LogicMonitor successfully emailed a report? Is that logged anywhere that is available to me? I understand the reports are not emailed from my collector but rather are emailed from the LogicMonitor servers. I need to make sure that the emails were sent though.
