About Me

  1. I have a dashboard to show the CPU of particular resources. Each widgets of the panel have CPU details of particular resource group. I have used Virtual Datapoints with some mathematical calculations. As these are graph widgets, the option called `boundaries` are showing at the end of the widget (when we open in wide screen). For whatever time range selected in the calendar, the widget cumulates the respective metrics' data for that time range and shows as "boundaries" (one single cumulative value for the entire time range for each metric/datapoint) By default the boundary values are showing as min, max and avg. I need to download these boundary values of each widget for the time range which I select. There is a option called "download" in each widget but it gives all the values only from the graph for each time instance. So there are more values which are variable according to the time instance. Is there any way to get the boundary values which is nothing one single cumulative value of a datapoint for the entire time range which I select. This information is very significant and I need this very urgently. Could anyone please help me on this as soon as possible
  2. I noticed today that the alert widget had defaulted to having Static Threshold and Dynamic Threshold set as enabled. This messed up our dashboard column widths and layouts and we had to go through and reconfigure them. Please, please, please do not default new columns to enabled. New things should be disabled by default.
  3. Hi Everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to create a widget, that will show the top ten servers that have a ping of above 100ms. I can make the standard ping widget, but I don't see a way to limit the graph to those servers that have a high ping. Do I need to use the virtual datapoint? Or, maybe I need clarification on what it means when I select top 10 on an average, or maxrtt datapoint. Thanks!
  4. We use dashboards religiously in Logicmonitor - I'd argue they're one of LM's greatest features. When tracking issues or trying to ascertain trends among aggregate charts, drilling down to a single object is non-intuitive. For example, I have a line chart of CPU% for a collection of web servers. All follow a general path/trend, except for an outlier. I'd like to be able to jump straight from the chart demonstrating the outlier and drill down through whatever resources tree i might have. Today, I spend valuable time sifting through many objects to get to that data. My ideal scenario would take me straight to the single-instance version of that line chart for the requested host, making it a single click for me to navigate to other elements that I might suspect are the source of or related to the issue at hand. I hope that makes sense!
  5. Please add a tooltip to the NOC widget blocks to show the full caption when the label of the resource, website, group label if truncated when it is too long for it, and ellipsis is shown.
  6. We would like to be able to set a custom message for the Big Number widget when there is no data rather than the "Empty Data" message. It would be good if we could also choose to add our own SVG to replace the icon, as a nice to have.
  7. When the NOC widget has more items than can be displayed we get a horizontal scroll bar. I don't how others feel about this, but I find it annoying as I can't use the mouse wheel to scroll through the widget's contents. Please add an option in the widget config to choose between vertical overflow and horizontal overflow.
  8. We have several clustered devices where metrics are gathered on each node. However, the instances across each node are identical. When attempting to graph this data, this means that I would need to add a new datapoint for each instance and use a glob pattern to select the devices from which to pull those instances. This can mean that a lot of time goes into creating these graphs if there are several instances to monitor. Examples: Three Solr nodes - each servicing search requests for the same 10 collections. In order to see the total number of GET requests for each of those collections, I would need to create a graph that has 10 individual datapoints. Instead, I would like to add one datapoint and have the graph intelligently aggregate all instances that have the same name, regardless of the node. Several device groups exist under a parent group. If I want to see the average CPU utilization across each of these groups on a single graph, I would need to add a separate datapoint for each group. A potential solution could be to allow the integration of regex instead of glob patterns to allow for capture groups. Otherwise a simple checkbox for "aggregate instances by device group" and "aggregate instances by instance names" when selecting aggregated graph types would be extremely useful and time-saving.
  9. Please make the number items on the Big Number widget hyperlinks to the instances from which the datapoints are configured in the widget. This would save having to go into the widget config to check where the value is coming from. Our operators instinctively expect to be able to click the item and be navigated to the source of the datapoint.
  10. how can we fetch data form widget for last 24 hours? is it possible to get for last 24 hours form widget ?
  11. One of the most disappointing things encountered during a system review meeting with clients is to find widgets reporting "no data" because something changed or silently stopped producing results. In many other API endpoints, I have found there is a ton of state data embedded, but widgets have really nothing other than the lastUpdated* fields. I would like to see at least a field that indicates there is no data for some or all datapoints, just like you would see in the UI. Then we could generate reports on faulty widgets and be able to remain proactive. Thanks, Mark
  12. A recent change to the Big Number widget has decreased formatting flexibility . It used to be that you could set thresholds to change colors if the number is between certain values and your "All other times" (else) condition could be any color you wanted to match the style of your dashboard. This allowed the flexibility to integrate the Big Number into your existing creative style with the added benefit of "POP" it falls below or between a certain lower threshold. For example, a red or orange number if server uptime is <=5 days, but grey or white text when that condition isn't met. After this recent change, anytime threshold isn't met the number is forced to be a "mild green" color which does NOT integrate well with most of the available Widget Appearance color schemas. Yes you can turn off thresholds and choose any number color you want, but you lose valuable attention-drawing functionality (which I would say is the point of this widget). In general, this really fouls up the asthetics of my client-facing dashboards. Have a look for yourself (attached). Please restore the flexibility (that we had previously) to change the Big Number "All other times" condition to something other than green. I'd suggest using the same color palat you get with the "Text" widget. This allows more visually flexible dashboarding and lets face it, dashboards are meant to be asthetically pleasing. Versatility of color goes a long way in achieving this. I've got a ticket open (99920) related to this suggestion, I encourage others to post comments (agree/disagree) here. Thanks everyone!
  13. Hey guys, I just thought of something interesting that would be a nice to have. Rather than exporting the entire dashboard to xml it would be neat to export a widget.. The same with importing... when adding a new widget one of the options would be widget from xml. That way people could post sample/ templates of a single widget and others can manipulate the data / import it in to their dashboard. The thought came to me today as had just got done adding two graphs to a dashboard but am now export to xml to add 20+ datapoints to each graph.
  14. Please improve the algorithm that determines if the labels should wrap or not. In the attached image, there is plenty of space available for Philadelphia to not be wrapped.
  15. The web services graphs do not offer any styling options. It's very hard to see the thin lines on the graph from a distance, and there is no option to change the graph from lines to area style. So our next thought was to use the Big NUmber widget to present the response time for a web service check, with the thinking being that the big number can be easily read from a distance. Alas, the big number widget does not seem to allow selection of services, only devices? Are there any workarounds to this? As we move more of our services to the cloud we need the same presentation flexibility as we have for device metrics. @Sarah Terry
  16. Please add a configurable option that forces the legend to be always displayed.
  17. I need four equal width columns that fill the entire screen. Is there a way to change the width so that they fit across the screen without the width being cut in half? It looks like there are four width presets. When populating a default dashboard with widgets sit would be very helpful to have more width presets. I'm using a standard graph widget.
  18. Please add number formatting for Big Number widget. We need thousand and million commas for readability. 12345 should be 12,345 1234567 should be 1,234,567 And so on.
  19. Our organization has multiple teams that have been broken down in our recipient groups. One group in particular, our NOC, is included on about 250 various escalation chains. While we're able to filter by Escalation Chain, Group and, a couple other items that could be useful for us, getting a dashboard for alerts that go to that recipient group just isn't feasible due to the fact that each of those escalation chains or groups need to be added manually and then would need to be updated manually if the team was added to another escalation chain - they could be missing out on important data if they aren't notified of the change and miss out on adding the additional chain. - For LM staff, I originally asked about this functionality in ticket 85602 and advised it wasn't available.
  20. When only the "unit" or "label" is configured on the Big Number widget, the hyphen should not be displayed. The hyphen should only be visible if both unit and label are present.
  21. The maps widget is practically useless to us. It's very difficult to see the map pins. PLEASE add support for Google Map Style JSONs.
  22. Hi, The custom graph could do with being a bit more customisable. Presently the X-axis is alway time. This is often useful but not always. It would be great to be able to define what's on the X-axis either just in terms of values or from datapoints. This was found whilst trying to create a dashboard to show disk space usage in a visually meaningful way. Thanks Mike
  23. Please make the Big Number widget navigable so that if clicked/tapped then the user is taken to the element that is providing the metric for the big number.
  24. Please add option to filter severities on the Map Widget. We only want to show amber (P2) or red (P1) on our maps.
  25. Please make it so that items in the Group column of the alert widget are each placed on a new row, just as the Full Path column does already. This would make it much easier to read the items.
